An (almost) Perfect Companion

Today was a beautiful day in Pearland. It was sunny and clear, with (miracle) a slight breeze. Holly and I decided to catch some sun in the backyard before the humidity takes over Houston for the summer. Now, we don't have a lounge chair, so I make due with the cushions from our patio set and a beach towel. Usually, Holly finds somewhere in the grass to lay while I stretch out on the cushions. Today though, after fetching my towel I turned around to find this:

How could I make her get off with a face like that. I know that Neil would have no problem shooing her away, and that I am a softy :-), but she's my sole companion during the day, so I decided that we could make it work!

Here's a shot of how our setup looked today. I admit my feet were dangling in the itchy grass, but that's ok. Of course, Holly lost interest in the sun long before I did, so I let her inside while I finished bronzing for the day. When I came inside though, our relationship had to take a turn. We no longer could be "best companions". This is what I found:

Animals on the furniture is not ok at the Moore house (and she is fully aware of this rule, but has recently chosen to violate it), so I quickly (after taking the picture of course), got my stern face on and made her get off the chair. So much for companionship!

Hey...I just went back and saw your comment to my comment...you finished Jane Eyre...did you love it?!!!

I loved it so much. It was not what I expected it to be at all, which is always delightful. I do have to say that it is similar to Dickens' David Copperfield in a lot of ways, and I think I liked David Copp. a little better. It was an amazing book! It's about 200 pages longer than Jane Eyre...so you come to know him just that much more. I loved it so much and totally recommend it.

I read Emma last year. It is very good. Mr. Knightly is my favorite Austen man thus far. :) I'm glad that I have another classic lit. reader to chat with. :)

And about getting together...I don't think I'm gonna be in town (SL)for any amount of time for a few weeks, but towards the end of June/beg. of July I think I will so I'll let you know! That'll be fun!

Ok, I'm done. :)
